Correct! The orginal MA armies were "built" without a points system. When we release the new system, you will be able to use the old armies and build new ones.
The points system for the NEW MA will be similar, but simpler than the MA: Ancients accomodate more armies and divisions
Oh, and the book is being layed out as we speak :)

Awesome! Hey I found mighty armies through board game geek and thought I'd take a chance on the rules... Even though I figured it wouldn't cause me to abandon HOTT - especially since there wasn't any roll your own army system. But I'm REALLY liking these rules! And yeah, I'm totally down for the next iteration when it comes out which I hope is soon.
To echo - do we have an ETA and is there like a mailing list I can get on so I don't miss it?! Currently, I don't have the time or space to deal with a 2'x2' board and painting minis so I bought some balsa bases and poster board that I cut to 1/2 scale 1'x1' and I'm itching to try out different armies (and say, if you guys come out with a 1/2 scale version with cool looking tokens that stand in for the minis on bases to accommodate gamers who just want to game in as small a space as possible [would loooooooove it if you came out with a handsome 1x1 board to go with it, box it up with rulers and dice - dontcha think this "ultra minis" box set would sell like gangbusters at conventions?! You can even sell it as a tactical visualization tool... :)] I would definitely throw my money's at ya!
Anyway, I'm grateful for bgg for bringing me here and I look forward to getting my gaming fix with MA!

P.s. can we get hires color images in the new MA PDF? Would love to buy a printed book too - - any plans for that? And any deals if you wanna get both? Also, a one page cheat sheet would be appreciated as well! |
