Right now, Shamans and Mages are given an AP value based on the fact that they can cast spells from a "pool" of magic.
What if we take it one step futher and offer players the chance to "build their magic user". This would be an advanced rules thing, becuase I want to keep the core game pretty simple.
So, for example:
Magic user would have the base stats of:
Speed 3 Fight Score 1 Support 1 AP 1
ok, he uses the new rules and a New Spell Book and Trinkets. He can choose a Package (like the Old Spells) for +4 AP or maybe a new package that has included spells and trinkets for +4 Ap. or he can also buy a la cart at +1 per spell.
Let's say he chooses to be a frost wizard. He buys a Ice package for +4.
That gives him a set list of spells( Freeze, icy winds, whatever). But he could also buy FROZEN DEATH for an Additonal +1 or the Cold Heart Trinket(maybe some sort of User protection) for +1
Does this make any sense? What do you guys think?
