Might Armies in 28mm and B&K's 15mm armies updates
Modified By Boromir_and_kermit on 8/13/2008 5:09:59 AM)

G'day guys,

I was just wondering if anyone had done this yet?

If so, have you just doubled all measurements?

ie. bases become 100mmx50mm and 100mmx100mm, 4" move becomes 8" move and a 2' x 2' table becomes a 4' x 4' table?

I'm thinking very seriously about doing a few 28mm armies and just wanted everyone's opinion on how to do it effectively.

Cheers,
Ben.

Re: Might Armies in 28mm

Hi Ben,

I have not tried this but I think that doubling all measurements would work fine.  I can't see any problems that would arise except paying for all of those 28mm figures

Re: Might Armies in 28mm

I actually played it with my 28mm Warhammer Dark Elves about a month Ago. I used the movenment trays as bases. I ran the DE with the Wild Elves Stat Sheet and Subbed the Tree man for the Dark Elf Hydra.

I used the Cold one Knights and the Cold one Chaiots here: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/armySubUnitCats.jsp?catId=cat50015

I don't have the Dark Elf Warrior new box set, but it would make 4 Units of Spearmen/Warriors. I am using my old DE Spearmen.

I went against Tom's Feral Orcs.

It was alot of fun. I think I have pics somewhere..

Sounds cool Mike, did you double the movement and range values?

I would be very interested in seeing photos if you do have them.

I know it would cost a lot to do, but I would try and keep the number of figs down on a base. How many were you running with roughly per base Mike?

Cheers,
Ben.

Re: Might Armies in 28mm

Yes, Basically I doubled the movement ranges and took shooting to 15". I'll look up my notes and I'll try and post them. It was a nice army, fast and deadly with teh Crossbows. I counted up around 14 stands. so about 56 models...

I had an idea a couple of months ago to do the conversion as a free Supplement or include the converstions with my new resin movement trays. The resin trays would hold 4 standard GW 25mm square bases, so you could move them all at one. Like an Overgrown MA base :)

It is not as expensive as it would seem. For me, I already owned the models but when I considered doing a Skaven Army I could get a Clan Rat Regiment for about $20 on Ebay. and everyone else has alot of cheap loose models to buy.

I ran 4 models to a unit, unless it was special. So my upcoming design for the Clan Rats gave me 4 units of infantry, A general musican and Standard. so 5 units. Then I was going to add some assassin units, a Shamen type and gutter runners.

Does that make sense?
