Had a quick and dirty game of solo MA:A last night while I enjoyed a cup of tea and a cigar. I played the Egyptians, whilst De Bellis Solitarius (http://www.fanaticus.org/DBA/variants/vardbs.html) controlled the Hittites. I used the sample armies from the lists I posted previously.
Once again, please excuse the unpainted miniatures!
I set up my forces with the chariots and infantry in a battle line in the center, and my archers on the flanks. Skirmishers were clustered near the village.
DBS set up the Hittites with a force of chariots on its left flank, a mixed spearmen/archer unit on the right flank, and the remainder of the army arrayed in battle line in the center.
The Hittites are at the top, the Egyptians are below.

The Hittites continued to roll "Manoeuvre" for behavior, and over the course of 2 turns began to flank with the chariots and move skirmishers and the archer/spearmen group forward. Once in position, the archers began to fire at the Egyptian archers opposite.
Cursed with low MP rolls, my Egyptians could merely react by moving skirmishers and archers toward the oncoming threats.

The flanking Hittite chariots received one casualty from the Egyptian archers before slamming into them. The ensuing Massacre resulted in only 1 Egyptian casualty thanks to a lucky die roll! After falling back, the unit rallied and shot down the Hittite chariot. The flank was secure.
Unfortunately, after charging the Hittie infantry, the Egyptian infantry lost the ensuing battle and fell back. Meanwhile, the dueling archer units on the flank continued to peck away at each other, with the Hittites suffering greatly from the Egyptians' Shooting II attacks.
Finally, thanks to a very late high MP roll, the Egyptians were able to activate their chariots and charge into the Hittite chariots.

The melee was close, but the Hittites lost one chariot unit, which caused their army to hit their Victory Conditions break point. The Hittite general turned and fled!

It was a pretty close game. The Egyptians lost 4 units , with 5 being the endgame, with the Hittites losing their 6th unit in the final melee.
I'm pretty happy with the skirmish ability. Has anyone else had a chance to playtest it?
I'm looking forward to assembling my Huns, Saxons and Romano British for some MA: Dark Ages action in the next month. Hopefully I'll get some miniatures painted soon as well!
