Any changes for the game what is the verdict?

What is your decision will we be using 4 stand including or excluding the larger stands to go 4 stands per group now and 2d6, And what about the change to pike stands basing them long ways so all 4 stands can fight.  Have you come to a verdict on the game?

Ok, My thoughts. Played a bunch of Games at the Kinfolks(with anyone who would play :) )

I have not played these changes with my gaming group, so, take that into consideration. The test group was all Newbies.

-  2D6- I like it for fighting. I like the swing and I think it works. Not for MP.
-  4 base groups vs. 6 bases. I thought about this alot. I played alot of different scenarios and w/ the 2D6 change, I don't see a big difference. Now, I this week I'll be using these changes against "gamers" so we'll see... but right now, I still like the 6 base max.
- Heavy Units. The major problem I found with the HU is the Support. Everything we discussed trickled on the power of the support. I played this weekend with a Support of 2 and it worked great.. but that was not with "real" Gamers....

Pikes:

We played the following: If all front units have pikes, then +1 to defense Roll. If the Back Ranks also have pikes, then it becomes +2 to defense roll.
It seemed to work well. Anyone tried this?

I have been thinking about the Pikes, but have not played anything out with them yet.  How are you thinking about costing them?  One thought I had was to add Pikes as an ability for a cost of +1.  I think every unit in the group would need to have the ability to get the bonus.

I have been trying to make time to test a few things out (group size, number of dice, Pikes, and support)  Am I missing anything, Mike?  I hope to try some things out in the next few days.  Later,
