Re: So, who wants to play test MA:DA?

It is MA:DA rules... and a DA armylist. My email is: rjhalcomb2002@yahoo.com

Flick me an email, and I will reply with what Mike sent... Want a copy of the ACW / H&M rules that I am developing, too? I will also flick an updated copy to Mike... I do like the new skirmisher stuff, though, and may need to adapt them in...

Richard

Re: So, who wants to play test MA:DA?

Thanks.  I just sent you an email.

I'm still not sure about the skirmish stuff yet.  I think skirmishers would fit better with Ancients.  Still need to look at them in more detail.

Mark

Re: So, who wants to play test MA:DA?

I agree that skirmishers played a little part in most DA battles... mostly it was Shieldwall against Shieldwall, with cavalry exploiting the flanks... But for Napoleonic H&M, and to a smaller extent ACW, skirmishers are certainly needed!

Re: So, who wants to play test MA:DA?

I am going to have a game on the weekend: Romano British vs Saxons. I'm still not sure about "Spearmen" asa troop type for DA, but I will give it a go as written, and see how it plays. My undersatnding is that MOST troops of this time were spear/shield armed, with a sword/axe/shield combination as a back-up. To compensate for that, I would give the Med Inf a support score of 2, not one... they are more lightly armoured battle troops than the elite Hvy Inf... but I will play it and see!

Re: So, who wants to play test MA:DA?

I agree Richard.  I have been leaning towards giving the MI support of 2.  We may need to drop spearmen as a troop type and maybe have a spear special ability.  Meditate on this I will :)
